FormscanBy Gary Carson - Willie Mullins has produced quite a few smart juvenile hurdlers already and DOUGAL PHILPS looks the one to side with on his jumping debut. He performed to a good level on the Flat, earning a mark of 85, and showed versatility trip wise. He also handles soft ground well and looks the type to do well in this sphere. Vedani was the best of these on the Flat but jumped poorly on his debut over timber here last month and needs to improve significantly from that. A bigger danger may be South South West who ran really well in a hot Grade 3 contest at Fairyhouse last time. As the only winner in the field he has to give weight away around but sets a good standard here. Hartside makes his debut for Gigginstown having landed a hat-trick on the level for Andrew Tinkler. He obviously deserves respect as he was an improver on the Flat and ended on a fair mark of 71. Teofolina is a rare runner over jumps for Jim Bolger and has to be respected having had a career high mark of 77 on the level. That leaves her one of the better performers among these on the Flat and if she can transfer that to hurdles she could make her presence felt.
