FormscanBy Gary Carson - It was a muddling race that SOMETHINGWONDERFUL won at Galway and he did well to get back up after being headed. He looked a reluctant leader that day and the slow pace he set actually seemed to work against him in the finish as it turned into something of a sprint. It was the sign of a decent horse that he pulled out what required to get his head back in front. A stronger gallop here will suit and he could be a nice type. O Maonlai knuckled down well to score on his debut at Punchestown and is entitled to improve from that. It looked a decent contest before but the second has been put in his place since and the horse that was sent off favourite then, Rough Justice, disappointed here on Wednesday. Outlander wasn't particularly well fancied on his track debut but got the job done well. Willie Mullins felt that he was more of a galloper beforehand and he may just find one with more gears upped in grade now. Noel Meade was slightly disappointed that Owen Mc didn't beat Dantes Firth in better style at Fairyhouse earlier this month. Tom Foley's charge looks a solid performer, however, and could get involved at the business end here as he stays at his task well. Posiden Sea was a shock winner at Clonmel and this looks a lot tougher.
