FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - Early betting on this suggests a match between So Young and VOLER LA VEDETTE and that's hardly surprising really. Colm Murphy's star mare won this last year and she can repeat the dose. Murphy said of her in a September Irish Field stable tour: "She was very good last year and she has come back looking great after her break. If anything she has strengthened up and I am really looking forward to getting her going again. We'll go much the same route as last year and more than likely, she'll go for the Morgiana at Punchestown and then she'll head back to Fairyhouse for the Hatton's Grace. She looks a million dollars and she handles winter ground better now. I think we can put that down to the fact that she is a much stronger mare now. She was very unlucky at Cheltenham last year and Andrew (Lynch) gave her a great ride that day and it nearly paid off for her. He knows her well and she runs great for him. She seems as well as ever and I am really looking forward to getting her going. She is so versatile that anywhere from two to three miles is fine for her." So Young is a course winner here too. He finished down the field in the Stayers at Cheltenham when Voler La Vedette was runner-up. Willie Mullins commented of him lately: "He has schooled over fences and jumps all right, but I'm leaning towards keeping him over hurdles as he might do well in the Graded races over 2m4f-2m6f."
