FormscanBy Tom Weekes - CHRIS'S DREAM won in the style of a good horse at Clonmel last month and while this is a huge step up in class from that Grade 3 contest, he might be able to take that step. He had shown just useful form prior to Clonmel but routed his rivals in that contest and, being a strapping and progressive looking type, can get involved today with soft ground in his favour. Chef Des Oreaux is a big danger given he too was a wide margin winner of a Grade 2 contest at Haydock last month. The form of that race has worked out very well (the second and fourth have won easily since) and he is a strong stayer on testing ground. He is joint-top rated with stablemate and rival Santini, who beat him when the pair meat at Newbury in December. Santini has since won a Grade 2 here in January and while he is clearly a big player, has only raced once at this trip, when winning his English point to point on debut. Ballyward's form has also been over shorter trips and while he won his maiden hurdle narrowly at Naas in January, he does appear to be crying out for this longer trip. He therefore has claims and while he remains something of a dark horse in this class, is apparent stable first-string today and will be well suited by testing ground.
