FormscanBy Gary Carson - RASHAAN has been a real star for Colin Kidd and there has to be every chance of him completing a remarkable hat-trick in this race. He is only 2lb higher than when winning it last season and it has cut up to only five runners this time. Due to his ratings over jumps he's not the easiest to place but he was far from disgraced when third to Darasso at Gowran in the Red Mills Hurdle when last seen in February. He had previously been behind one of today's rivals, Chess Grand Master, at Dundalk and may be able to turn those tables now. That was a funny race with a horse going well clear mid-race. Chess Grand Master stayed well to score then but his latest runs have been a bit disappointing and it may pay to side with Rashaan even though he's 5lb worse off in a handicap now. Waterville Dancer looks another that has to come into calculations. He certainly stays well having won over two-miles-two at Down Royal when last seen, last September, but has a 4lb rise and an absence to overcome now.
