FormscanBy Gary Carson - It's not often you'd say that a horse looks nicely treated despite a 31lb rise but CONRON may still be on the low side off this mark of 65 on the Flat. He has proven a smart sort over timber and having been as low as 34 on the Flat he was pitched into a good rated race at Killarney presumably in a bid to raise that mark to a level where he could get a run. He wasn't beaten that far behind Falcon Eight then and judged on that run he looks to have a race in him off his current rating. Another horse that could be well handicapped is Amadeus, who went into the notebook when running on strongly to finish second over hurdles at Ballinrobe last Friday. He switches back to the Flat where he is now 7lb lower than when finishing second on the all-weather over in Southwell last month. Black Label comes here in good form from Dundalk. He is now 4lb worse off with Ringo Kid having beaten that rival three-parts-of-a-length last month.
