By Shamardal, her dam is a half-sister to a French 1,000 Guineas winner and SUN SIGN herself raced once, for Andre Fabre, in France as a 2yo before selling for E10,000 in November and for 5,000gns last January. She since showed useful form and while she was 0.75L behind today's rival Hiella at Naas, SUN SIGN was finishing well then and again ran well at Navan in July. Hiella herself has strong claims but is lightly enough raced and hasn't appeared since her June 26 run. That may matter little but she is also vulnerable to any smart types today. Winning on frustrating Castletownsend proved beyond Ruby Walsh's talents in the saddle three times earlier this year but the gelding is nonetheless a consistent and fairly capable type who deserves some luck. He has strong form claims but runs over 5f for the first time today, which is a concern. Sacchoandvanzetti was 2.25L behind Castletownsend at Naas latest and while he too has solid and consistent form at this level, also races over 5f for the first time here.
