FormscanBy Mark Nunan - STAR CATCHER showed notable improvement when landing the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot, and may come forward again to give John Gosden a third Irish Oaks. She had the Epsom third Fleeting a length and a half away in second, and relished going twelve furlongs for the first time. Frankie Dettori has a nice draw to work with from stall three. Iridessa was impressive when stepped up in trip in the Pretty Polly Stakes, and will be a threat to all if staying the extra quarter-mile. Pink Dogwood was held back in third that day, but had previously been a somewhat unfortunate runner-up in the Epsom Oaks, where she had to cover a lot of ground and probably got to the front a bit soon. The third and fourth that day, Fleeting and Manuela De Vega, are still open to improvement and not ruled out. The latter is the choice of Harry Bentley ahead of the Newbury Listed winner Antonia De Vega. Trethias has a lot more on her plate than when winning at Naas, but might be a sporting each-way play for an in-form team.
