His biggest day came in a famous defeat of Australia in the 2014 Irish Champion Stakes and while he failed to win in 11 subsequent starts, each race was at Group 1 level and this grade looks much easier. His new trainer’s horses have been uncharacteristically quiet recently but this horse is a proven top performer who is well up to Group 3 standard. Success Days is himself a proven smart performer and is very closely matched with Air Pilot, who narrowly beat him at Naas in very similar conditions last month. Both horses are race-fit, which is a big help and are sure to give their form, but are vulnerable to high class performers. There was very little between Johannes Vermeer and Success Days when the pair met over course and distance last month but Johannes Vermeer is now 3lbs better off and can turn form while Moonlight Magic, seventh in that race, is also now 3lbs better off with Success Days and is another not without solid place claims. Shamreen is a CD winner but is probably best watched on seasonal reappearance.
