FormscanBy Gary Carson - TWILIGHT PAYMENT has some top class staying form in the book and looks the obvious one they all have to beat. He has had to settle for minor honours on his three starts this season but the horses ahead of him on those occasions were Order Of St George and the highly progressive Torcedor and that represents the best form around in this division. This looks a nice opportunity now to get his head back in front. The three-year-old Grandee gets a nice pull at the weights over this trip and he could be the danger. He was outclassed in the Irish Derby last time but was a good winner in Listed company at Leopardstown previously and looks to have plenty of stamina. He looks like he could improve for stepping up in trip again and has to be respected. The Tartan Spartan makes his first start in Ireland despite being trained here. He was highly tried last season after winning his maiden but has been progressive this term. He won in handicap company at Salisbury before running with credit to finish fifth in a good Listed contest at York. He wasn't beaten far when filling the same position in a similar contest in France last time and it will be interesting to see how he fares here now. Savannah Storm was placed in Listed company at Roscommon last time but this looks a slightly stronger race.
