Daybreak Boy finished down the field in the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham Festival but, prior to that, beat Count Simon by nine lengths over two and a half miles at Clonmel in January. This is a step up in trip for him. Count Simon also tries three miles for the first time but arrives in winning form from Perth, where he rallied to good effect over an extended two and a half miles. He very rarely finishes out of the money. Perhaps SIZING ROME will be a shade of value, though. It's an interesting move by connections to switch him to hurdles after back-to-back wins in staying chases. He has an abundance of stamina and, if taking to the smaller obstacles, could bring it into play. He won a hunters chase on this card last year. Count Simon's stablemate, Ravenhill, hasn't been seen since August when hacking up in Sedgefield. He clocked up three victories in 2018 and was runner-up twice. The former point-to-point winner is respected on seasonal debut. Sligo winner Mon Storm is up against it on ratings.
