FormscanBy Alan Magee - This appears the weaker of the two divisions of this race and LIGETI gets the vote after a convincing win over a mile here last Friday. The Rip Van Winkle gelding is one of the lowest rated horses carrying the famous Tabor colours but, having been slowly away on a number of occasions, got it all together last time. His winning margin of a neck over Voyageofdiscovery (runs earlier on this card) bore no relation to his superiority and, if seeing out this longer trip, will be difficult to beat. Cristy’s Call has won three times over this course and distance, and certainly comes into the reckoning after staying on nicely after a slow start to get within two lengths of War Goddess here last time. Ciankyle has run well here on a number of occasions, and may be suited by this drop in trip after a solid effort behind Tommy Welsh a fortnight ago.
