FormscanBy Alan Magee - BLAIRMAYNE ran a cracker last time when third in the Bold Lad Premier Handicap at the Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend. If the forecast rain arrives the going is likely to be equally testing on this occasion, and further confidence can be taken from his record at this track scoring twice last summer including over this trip. Alans Pride has proved a real credit to trainer Richard O’Brien winning three times this year including over six furlongs at the Curragh. The five-year-old has held his form well in a busy campaign, and handled testing ground when beating all bar Youceeyouceecee at Listowel last week. However a wide draw in 15 is a negative. Shore Step has dropped a long way from a career high mark in the mid-90’s but significant rain may harm his chance along with Sheisdiesel. Doonard Prince again showed his liking for a straight course when scoring at Navan earlier this month.
