FormscanBy Michael Graham - All eyes will be on ROAD TO RICHES and it is to be hoped that he lives up to star billing. He has been successful in one of his last eight races though and indeed was pulled up when last seen in the Galway Plate. There were excuses that day as he was found to be struck into, lost a shoe and was lame afterwards. In his race prior to that, he was leading the Grade One Punchestown Gold Cup when falling at the second last. His last two visits to the Cheltenham Festival have seen him placed in the Gold Cup and the Ryanair which contributes to his rating of 162. When he is on song he is very, very good as evidenced by nine wins and seven places from 23 outings. His wins in Grade Ones at Down Royal and Leopardstown, in November and December 2014 respectively, live long in the memory. Devils Bride is only rated 3lbs inferior to Road To Riches and receives 2lbs in this contest. He bagged a valuable handicap at the Galway Festival when putting Draycott Place to the sword. The latter has boosted the form since. He was only beaten three lengths into fourth in the Galway Plate this year. Previous connections have often been quoted as saying that he likes good ground so he wouldn't welcome any further rain. This is his first run for Henry de Bromhead.
