FormscanBy Tom Weekes - CAPPUCCIMIX can get off the mark over fences here. A debut maiden hurdle winner at Clonmel last January, his future was always going to lie over fences and he duly ran a very solid race on chase debut at Navan in November, when failing by 7L to beat Cash Back. There was certainly no disgrace in that defeat with Cash Back winning again subsequently, with 16L back to the third horse at Navan. CAPPUCCIMIX exited at the first fence at Leopardstown over Christmas but is a potentially useful chaser and can gain compensation here. Coquin Mans was a smart hurdler and while rated 158 in that sphere at his best, his more recent runs have been a little below par. He was never high-class but nonetheless didn't show anything special last term and while he is likely to improve considerably from his recent chase debut, he does need to do far better and could prove vulnerable to the selection. Chosen Mate was third in that Leopardstown race where CAPPUCCIMIX exited at the first (Antey was a well beaten fourth), and while that was a useful enough effort, he disappointed subsequently at Fairyhouse and comes here on a retrieval mission. Rhinestone was himself beaten 44L on chase debut at Leopardstown over Christmas and while he is open to improvement from that performance given he was Grade 1 placed last season, today's trip looks much too sharp.
