FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - MEZAJY won this event last year and perhaps Denis Hogan's charge is capable of going in again. From a mark of 92 the son of Makfi got the job done here in 2017, so he has quite a bit more on his plate now from his 109 perch. However, the selection has scored twice in the interim, and it's reasonable to think that the six-year-old is a better horse at this stage of his career. Hogan rides Mezajy himself, and it's Donagh Meyler that's got the call-up for the other runner from the progressive County Tipperary yard, Benny In Milan. He's been with Aidan Fitzgerald, Peter Fahey, Martin Todhunter and Francis Flood in the past, and the seven-year-old now begins for Hogan. All told there are only seven in the line-up but it looks very competitive nonetheless.
