FormscanBy Donal Murphy - WINTER is probably the banker of Champions Weekend for many and it's easy to see why. The grey daughter of Galileo has almost been flawless this season, with her only blip coming over the course on her seasonal debut. She was second to Hydrangea on that occasion, but has gone on to win her next four, all of which were at the highest level. She is the highest rated filly in the line-up, and should prove hard to beat. Roly Poly, who is a stablemate of the selection, has won her last two, both of which were Group 1 contests. She was however beaten into second by Winter when they clashed earlier in the season at the Curragh and Royal Ascot respectively. French raider Qemah is a dual Royal Ascot winner, and she was a close-up fourth to Roly Poly in the Prix Rothschild on her last start at Deauville in July. Her trainer Jean-Claude Rouget won the Champion Stakes here last year with Almanzor, and it would come as no surprise if he managed to scoop this prize now. Persuasive was second in this race twelve months ago, which brought to an end her unbeaten record. She had her comeback run at Deauville in the Prix Rothschild, and ran well there to finish fifth. She should come on plenty for that effort, and looks to have solid each-way claims here with Frankie Dettori in the saddle. Rhododendron and the aforementioned Hydrangea are other each-way contenders.
