FormscanBy Tom Weekes - BARAWEEZ has a poor draw in 17 but might still be able to win this wide open handicap. He is a consistent performer, likes an ease in the ground and comes here fit and well and likely to run another solid race from his rating. Elusive Time won the Irish Cambridgeshire latest, when beating five of today’s rivals, and while he is also clearly in excellent form, drops back to 7f today which is a concern given his best form in recent times has been at a mile, and he is also 8lbs higher today. Last year’s runner-up Withernsea also has solid recent form and is another with strong claims from his rating. He holds Have A Nice Day and Burnt Sugar on previous form but was beaten by Stamp Hill at Ascot in July and may also prefer softer ground. Stamp Hill seemed to show vast improvement when winning in first-time blinkers in July and while another who likes soft ground, is now also 9lbs higher today. Silverkode seems ground-versatile and is very progressive but is not helped by his 11lbs rise recently while Tempera should benefit from her reappearance run latest and is interesting in her first handicap today, being a course and distance winner on easy ground last October.
