FormscanBy Gary Carson - MENGLI KHAN was very impressive on his chase debut at Punchestown last month and he looks hard to oppose now stepping up into Grade 1 company. The Lope De Vega gelding has always had the stamp of a chaser and it couldn't have gone much better on his first outing over fences. He was a Grade 1 winner of the Royal Bond over timber and could be even better over the bigger obstacles this term. Le Richebourg has already been placed at the highest level over fences this term, going down by half a length to the selection's stable-mate Delta Work in the Drinmore at Fairyhouse earlier this month. He drops back in trip now and Mengli Khan may have an extra gear at this distance. Voix du Reve is another that has to come into calculations. The form of his Grade 2 win at Punchestown last month has been boosted by the runner-up Hardline since and if he gets an easy lead here he could make them work.
