FormscanBy Tom Weekes - CLIFFS OF MOHER should strip much fitter for his disappointing seasonal reappearance run over course and distance last month and can prove good enough to win this. He was a high class performer last year and while he ultimately failed to build on his Epsom Derby runner-up effort, he did compete in all the top Group 1 races available to him and this represents a big drop in class for him. He was 0.5L behind Yucatan in that recent Naas race but CLIFFS OF MOHER can be expected to improve past him now on more favourable sound ground conditions. Yucatan is himself an able type and while he could give the selection a real race, his interrupted 3yo year left him without the chance to prove himself in Group 1 races. Success Days was unsuited by quick ground on his trip to Australia recently due and while he is a solid performer at this level, his biggest enemy, the sun, has returned to haunt connections again today. Beautiful Morning was ahead of CLIFFS OF MOHER and Yucatan here last month but might prove vulnerable were both those rivals to improve on their best form while Turret Rocks is also very capable but might also struggle to win this. Renneti was up to his old tricks when refusing to race at Fairyhouse latest but he normally behaves himself coming out of stalls although he might struggle to win today.
