FormscanBy Tom Weekes - CADMIUM has shown a smart level of ability in his career thus far and looks the one to beat here. A good winner of a Grade A chase at Punchestown last April, he has won twice this season and comes here following two good runs in smart races recently. There was no disgrace in his Drinmore Chase fourth placing in December and his latest run saw him finish a good fourth from 147 at Leopardstown recently. Today's rival Doctor Phoenix was 10L behind him in tha Leopardstown race and while Doctor Phoenix is now 3lbs better off, CADMIUM has a clear form edge and also is the younger horse coming through. Avenir D'Une Vie returned following a year absence when finishing down the field at Fairyhouse in January and while progression from that run can be expected, he still has a little to prove today while Tycoon Prince's rating continues to slide and he needs to recapture his old form to win today.
