The three-year-old colt won a handicap over this trip in Leopardstown at the start of April and then the valuable Blackwater Handicap over a mile here later in the month. Since then, he has come home fifth in the Listed Tetrarch at the Curragh and sixth in the Irish 2,000 Guineas at the same venue. He was keen in the Group 3 Jersey at Royal Ascot and weakened to 12th. With an official rating of 107, he ought to take plenty of beating in this company. His main market rival, according to the bookmakers, is Aidan O'Brien's Western Frontier. He weakened to come in last in the Jersey but preceded that with a fourth in Group Three company over six furlongs here. His sole victory came over five furlongs at Navan in October. His two runs over seven furlongs have been inconclusive, so he is hard to recommend for win purposes. Bowerman is an interesting recruit for Ado McGuinness, having won three times on all-weather tracks for Roger Varian. A market check is advised.
