She looks to have plenty of ability and it was impressive the way she finished off her race at Gowran Park last time. Having taken time to find her feet then, and having run a touch greenly, she really started motoring inside the final furlong to stretch away from New To Town. That rival was rated 84 then and Espere definitely looks worth her place in Listed company judged on that win. The fact that she still looked far from the finished article would suggest that she's capable of improving again here. Another filly that could possibly improve is the once-raced Romiyna. She took her maiden in fine style at Gowran late last month and while this is a big jump in company now Dermot Weld spoke in glowing terms of her afterwards and he has a terrific record in this race in recent years. Aidan O'Brien has also landed this race on a few occasions lately and he has three declared runners. The fact that no jockey has been put down for Athena would raise some doubt about her participation. The other two look pretty exposed at this stage but Sizzling is capable of a decent show on her best form. Mary Tudor is obviously already proven at this level and stepping back up in trip here should suit. She has to give a few pounds to her rivals but sets a good standard off a mark of 104.
