FormscanBy Donal Murphy - BLACK RUBY, who is a half-sister to Group 1 winners Lord Shanakill and Together Forever, might be able to win this. She ran a fine race to finish second on debut at the Curragh last month, following-up on that performance to win at Fairyhouse on her most recent start. Her trainer Jessica Harrington mentioned the Oaks after that success, and a win here would set her up nicely for a tilt at the fourth Irish Classic of the season. Vociferous Marina is given second preference. She disappointed at the Curragh on her last start, but did win the Listed Salsabil Stakes at Navan in April, finishing a respectable fourth in the Musidora at York last month. Aidan O'Brien is represented by Key To My Heart, Elizabeth Browning, and Butterflies. The latter went down narrowly in the Munster Oaks on her last start, and she is tried in blinkers for the first time now. Elusive Duchess and Bloomfield both won first time out, but will need to improve if they are to feature here. Firma can be expected to close despite the fact she was beaten by the selection when they met at Fairyhouse, while Petticoat is another to consider after she got off the mark on her seasonal debut at Leopardstown recently.
