FormscanBy Donal Murphy - THE WINKLER gets the nod in this competitive contest. The son of Medaaly isn't the most consistent, but has run well at Navan before, and he should go close here after a near miss at Killarney on his last start. He kept on well from two out at the Co Kerry venue, but failed to reel-in Kilcarry Bridge, going down by just a length. He is tried in blinkers for the first time now, and hopefully they will have the desired effect. Katnap beat the selection when they met at Fairyhouse last year, and he is given second preference. The French bred ten-year-old was successful at Leopardstown in January, and went down by just a length in the Topham at Aintree on his last start. Top-weight Jarob hasn't won a race since 2015, but he is a dual course winner, and he can't be ruled out. Punchestown Festival winner Whatareudoingtome is sure to have plenty of supporters with just ten stone eight on his back, while Hash Brown is another to consider with Barry Geraghty in the saddle.
