The runner-up there, Carrigmoorna Matt, has since won a maiden hurdle in Killarney. Sharps Choice doesn't come without risks but probably won't have a better opportunity to get off the mark. He has been a beaten favourite on five occasions and has been placed in four of his six races. A couple of slight mistakes did him no favours in Kilbeggan when he was third, beaten by three lengths. He could take a lot of beating in what isn't a strong race. Niall Kelly's claim does no harm either. Moonman was a short price for a Downpatrick bumper in March but he didn't meet expectations. There should be more to come from this former point-to-point winner (on good ground). Classic Place was turned over in Downpatrick but the winner, Westland Row, could frank the form in the preceding race on this card.
