FormscanBy Gary Carson - A cracking contest here but with most of the principals making their return to action and also their chases debuts there are a lot of unknowns. MONALEE gets the vote. He developed into a top grade novice hurdler last year with his standout run coming in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham when chasing home Penhill. He had Invitation Only behind when the pair were placed behind Death Duty at Navan last December and both horses are probably viewed as chasers in the making. The trip is probably a minimum for Monalee but this looks a lovely starting point. Invitation Only, like Monalee, a former point-to-pointer is obviously a big danger. Any Second Now is another smart novice hurdler turning his attention to fences now and also deserves plenty of respect having scored at Grade 2 level last season. Sutton Manor has the benefit of a run over fences under his belt and it would be no surprise if he could go close now for the in-form team of Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy.
