FormscanBy Tom Weekes - BARRA has been running consistently well all season and is capable of winning here. She has shown a smart level of ability and having run well when second at Cheltenham (beating Asthurai, in fifth, and Awayinthewest, in sixth), then finished 0.75L ahead of Good Thyne Tara when the pair were third and fourth respectively in a good Grade 1 contest latest. There may not be much between a few of these, but BARRA has leading claim. Ruby Walsh has sided with Asthuria today over Good Thyne Tara and Pravalaguna and his decision is very notable. She has 5L to find with BARRA on Cheltenham form but had previously promised a lot and it is worth remembering her third placing in a Grade 1 contest, as a maiden, at Fairyhouse in March, 2016. Pravalaguna was in strong contention when falling in a Grade 2 contest latest and has her chance while stablemate Good Thyne Tara ran a cracker in Grade 1 company latest and has place claims here. Ringside Humour is a fascinating hurdles runner for Jim Bolger and was a useful flat performer. She stayed middle distances on the flat and while she cannot be totally dismissed on hurdles debut here, might struggle to win.
