FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - I was on reports duty when ALANANNDA debuted at Gowran and I wrote the following - The market suggested that Alanannda was expected to deliver at the first time of asking as the Aga Khan and Dermot Weld filly went off at odds of 5/6 favourite.She didn't do much wrong but she had to challenge wide and could never get to grips with the Cormac Farrell-trained and Rory Cleary-ridden Sagittarius Rising (7/1).He prevailed by a length and a half.Alanannda is drawn out wide here in ten but her effort at Gowran was very encouraging after she'd been slowly into stride.Soon in mid-division,Alanannda took a keen hold,and she was checked briefly at the halfway stage,then pushed along the selection made headway on the wide outside two furlongs out.Third a furlong out,she kept on without threatening the winner under hands and heels in second inside the final furlong,and was never nearer than at the finish.
