By Camelot, she won two flat handicaps, one each on fast ground and the all-weather but seemed to show improvement when tried on soft ground at Cork on hurdles debut. She ran a fine race then, staying on well to the line and looks the type to win a maiden of this nature. Pienta is a more experienced hurdler and has a 121 rating and also has solid claims. He was similarly useful on the flat, albeit he failed to win in six starts, but has shown enough to suggest he can also prove competitive in a race of this nature. Argumental showed some ability in two point-to-points last season but didn't appear a world-beater. Connections have skipped bumpers for now, which is a negative given he is just a 4yo, and he looks vulnerable on hurdles debut here. French Dynamite also skips the bumper route but did win his point-to-point for Donnchadh Doyle at Tralee last May. He was subsequently purchased for GBP165,000, which suggests he is well regarded, but the form of his point-to-point is ordinary with the third, fourth and fifth placed horses each meeting defeat in points on their next starts. The Broghie Man was a capable flat performer over sprint trips and while he loves soft ground, is surely best watched on hurdles debut.
