FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - ACT OF GOD is back in calmer waters after contesting the Connacht Hotel (QR) Handicap at Galway on July 29th. The Camelot gelding certainly wasn’t disgraced on that occasion when he chased the leader, and he was fifth seven furlongs out. Under pressure and losing his place over a furlong out, the four-year-old was ridden and kept on at the same pace under a furlong out to end up over seven and a half lengths off winner Great White Shark, ninth of the twenty. It's not easy to entertain the claims of Bective Cave or Kingsriver Diamond, but everything else is worth considering. Ben Coen and Shane Crosse help with their claims on Convara and West Coast Time. This pair will contend for a place in the frame at least.
