FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - It seems a lot longer than over four years ago now, that I saw UPTAKE run in a Bennettsbridge point-to-point. Alan Dobbs had care of him then in February 2013, Mikey Fogarty was aboard, and the Presenting gelding had every chance when coming to grief at the second last fence. That race went to a decent horse in A Hare Breath, but for Uptake it's been fairly barren in the interim as he has only a Fairyhouse handicap hurdle win in April 2016 to show for his efforts. Ultimately well beaten at the finish, when second behind Whatever It Takes a week ago, that Kilbeggan effort was still most encouraging with regard to the selection's hopes now. Keep the likes of Let's Twist Again, Tranquil Magic, Milestone Prince and Cantkidakidder in mind as well.
