Formscan By Gary Carson - CLARE HARRIER was an improver here at the end of last year and may be able to pick up the thread after a short break. He only won by narrow margins on his last two starts but that is due to his hold up style and he may just have enough improvement in him to stay ahead of the handicapper. The victory over Alvar has worked out well and that horse could give him a boost in the previous race. Black N Brew finished second to Alvar but the 6lb he got for that looks plenty. The Reek is another coming back from a break and could be a danger. He won well when last seen here in November and the runner-up Red Laser has scored since. Atlas Peak sprang a shock here last month but showed that was no fluke when running well off a pound lower than this back here two weeks ago. He looks to have place prospects again.
