Formscan By Gary Carson - A fascinating rematch on the cards here between FLEMENSTAR and Sir Des Champs. There was only one winner turning for home in the Lexus as Peter Casey's star cruised into the lead. It's a long way home from the final fence here as we have seen many times in the past and given the chance to ride the race again Andrew Lynch may have delayed his run a touch. It would be wrong to say he didn't get the trip and connections are sure to have learned plenty from the run. Sir Des Champs didn't look happy for much of that race but he stayed at it gamely and was right on top of them at the finish. The tactics here look set to prove pivotal as there is no doubt Willie Mullins charge will want a real test of stamina. Bog Warrior, who carries the same Gigginstown colours, could be the one to set a strong pace. He has really bounced back to his best over timber this season and is an interesting contender back over fences. There is no doubt he is a class act but he still has to prove himself at this level over the larger obstacles and Davy Russell has even questioned how well he would jump at the top level under pressure. Last year's winner Quel Esprit makes his seasonal debut and may just have to settle for minor honours in a stronger looking renewal this term.
