Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - Dual Royal Ascot hero SIMENON is difficult to look beyond. Granted he may not have had a huge amount to beat, but the Marju gelding was pretty spectacular twice, when winning over flights at Cork, including on heavy ground at the start of the year. Willie Mullins said of him in a recent stable tour: "We've had a great time over the summer with this fella and to have a winner at Royal Ascot was very special. We've mapped out the top-grade staying hurdles and might start off in the Hatton's Grace at Fairyhouse. I'm hoping he will develop into a genuine World Hurdle candidate to take on Big Buck's." Such talk shows the scale of the challenge facing Simenon's rivals now. Bat Masterson could be the one to chase him home.
