FormscanBy Donal Murphy - UN DE SCEAUX put in an electric performance to win the Irish Arkle at Leopardstown in January and a reproduction of that effort will see him extremely hard to beat. The Willie Mullins trained gelding sets a blistering pace in his races and burns off his rivals as a result. He beat Grade 1 winner Clarcam (re-opposes here) by fifteen lengths on his last start and provided his jumping is up to scratch he really should win here. Smashing finished a good fourth in the Coral Cup last year and he got within twelve lengths of the selection at Fairyhouse in December. He since won with ease at Gowran and he looks a solid each-way alternative. Vibrato Valtat is a progressive sort, winning his last three over fences. He is however 0 from 3 at Cheltenham and with that in mind he is readily opposed. The aforementioned Clarcam beat the high-class Vautour at Leopardstown in December and while he was no match for Un De Sceaux last time out he should give a good account of himself here.
