Jockey Joao Moreira hit the ground running as the new Hong Kong season got underway at Sha Tin this morning.

The reigning Champion won the first five races on the card including the featured Class 1 HKSAR Chief Executive’s Cup Handicap aboard Seasons Bloom.

The 32-year-old Brazilian rode a record breaking 8 winners from 10 rides at Sha Tin last March.

Moreira finished last season with 169 winners from 700 rides, a 24% strike rate, and the three times Champion rider is already looking a class apart.
