The ground was a bit fast for him the last day and he ran out of steam. To be honest today's race was a weak enough one and he got his own way, that was the biggest thing. He is that type of horse that he likes to get things his own way and dictate the pace,. He is a lovely horse to have and is unbelievably sound. His best ground is probably just before it gets heavy.
After race at Tipperary Thu, 10th May, 2018 (1st)
When things are right for him he does the business and he is at a certain level. I was surprised he won off this mark but he can't handle heavy ground. We have to run him to keep him fit and right. He has won his point-to-point and eight on the track so it's unbelievable and I lost five stone riding him out every morning!. Eoin (Mahon) comes down and rides out another horse of mine in the morning and I decided to give him the spin. He rode him lovely and he jumped super. We'll keep him going until the ground gets fast and he could run over hurdles next.
After race at Fairyhouse Mon, 1st Jan, 2018 (1st)
We were a bit lucky with the ground as we thought it would be more holding and he wouldn't be able to handle it but it's quite loose. He ran in Limerick and it was very gluey and he just couldn't handle it.
After race at Fairyhouse Sun, 1st Jan, 2017 (1st)
I’m delighted with Andrew as he didn't force the issue and could have burned him out around three out. He stays on really well. A year ago I would have given him away but we are really enjoying him now. I only have two horses this season and the other one (Change The Rules) has won as well. There is a Qualified Riders race coming up at Punchestown (January 14) over 3m1f - Declan Queally has won a point-to-point on him before so I will try to get him to ride.
After race at Wexford Tue, 22nd Nov, 2016 (1st)
We are even surprising ourselves at this stage. We had lots of problems with him after his point-to-point win. He had his wind done in November of 2015, and then we had to redo it early this year. He surprised us the day in Gowran when he won at 100/1,. I started to ride him myself in January. I hadn't ridden thoroughbreds in four years, I had no work rider so I started to ride him myself. I lost four stone as a result, and he has now won four races! . He enjoys what he does. We will give him a small break now. He handled that heavy ground although we thought he might not. Mark said he had no problem on it. We only have two horses in training and we've six races won between them this year. He might come back at Limerick over Christmas. We might try him over hurdles, but he is rated 113 over hurdles so it's slightly tougher.
After race at Galway Mon, 31st Oct, 2016 (1st)
He was up there all the way and jumped for fun. The hill suited him - he hadn't enough of hill the last day!,.
After race at Tramore Fri, 3rd Jun, 2016 (1st)
he is in better shape since we done the soft palate (operation) on him before the race in Gowran. We were running him over three miles, but maybe this is his ultimate distance.
