"Colin (Keane) said she's lazy and reminds him a lot of Elegant Pose. She can run over anything from a mile to ten (furlongs) but there is a lot of improvement in her. She's still very green as she was in Killarney but she shows no signs of that at home," said Ger Lyons after Espere impressed in the Ladies Day June 23rd Fillies Rated Race at Gowran.

Narrowly touched off in the previous race with Elysian Plains Lyons, Keane and Anamoine Limited weren't going to be denied in Espere's four runner assignment.

The 11/10 favourite looked a filly to follow with a win at the first time of asking at Killarney, and she cemented that impression 15 days on.

There’s a lot of merit in Espere’s comfortable four and three parts of a length dismissal of the 84-rated New To Town

The daughter of Elusive Pimpernel led a furlong and a half out before asserting her authority from a furlong out.

"This sire you would have to love the way he's doing it. They seem to be improving the mares," further reflected Lyons.

"She is a nice bonus to have this year as she is a slow burner and Mrs Patino sponsors the Snow Fairy later on. It's a nice target to have and we have two horses now to be aimed at that. This one will handle any ground and Elegant Pose will want a bit of juice.

"When you win your maiden and your winners' race then it's black type and you are in trouble if you're not a black type filly but it looks like she may be."
