A mare from his immediate family, Goodbloodbadblood, is one to remember after impressing in a point-to-point last weekend, but Cogryhill (4/1), has a good future himself, judged by his win under Nina Carberry in the concluding Flower Hill (Pro/Am) Flat Race at Navan.

On a good day for his owner, Gigginstown House Stud, on the mark in the pointing fields and on two other occasions at Proudstown Park (Dedigout and Very Wood in Grade 2 company), Cogryhill led home a one, two in the maroon and white, in the finale.

Gigginstown's Arkwrisht for Willie and Patrick Mullins, looked like he'd done enough from the front, over the closing two furlongs.

However former 'pointer' Cogryhill, trained by Gordon Elliott, also has the likes of Wichita Lineman, Rhinestone Cowboy, and Rare Holiday, in his pedigree, and he doesn't know when he's beaten either as he powered home to defeat odds-on Arkwrisht by two and a half lengths.

"I went home very disillusioned when he was beaten the last day (third at Fairyhouse, a race where Tuzo third here, was a place ahead of him). We'll put him away now, and he'll go over hurdles next year. He's a nice horse," revealed Elliott. (AM & EM)
