Denis Linehan had two mounts at Dundalk tonight and the 5Ib apprentice walked away with a 55/1 double when Glenmoore ran out a well-backed winner of the concluding Racing Post Handicap.

Linehan got the job done earlier on the Andrew McNamara trained Mandarin Monarch and in the finale he was aboard Glenmoore for County Mayo trainer Fergal Birrane.

Supported from 10/1 into 6/1 in the ring, the Equiano gelding was soon on the pace and he went for his race from over a furlong out.

In the end Glenmoore had half a length in hand over Lily’s Prince.

There was a gap of three lengths back to Bluesbreaker in third.

"I thought the six would suit him. He's bred for the six as his half-sister Avon Breeze won six six furlong races in England," said Birrane.

"We were dying to see what he would do over the six. We'll keep him over that.

"Denis said he really enjoyed it, loved it, and even took a bit of a fight near the end.

"Fair play to Denis, he's a brilliant rider and everything he's told he does."

The Stewards interviewed C.J. McGovern, rider of Togoville concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that C.J. McGovern was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with

excessive frequency.

The Stewards cautioned C.J. McGovern having taken his good previous record into

consideration.
