It wasn't quite the five-timer he achieved at Perth last Saturday but Gordon Elliott did double his Killarney score, saddling a 1-2 in the Seamus Mulvaney Bookmakers 3-y-o Hurdle. The tear-away Elysian Plains (Jack Kennedy) led home Smiling Eliza (Denis O'Regan).

Following on from the earlier success of Monkeylou (Declan McDonogh) on the Flat, Elysian Plains didn't convince with his jumping up the straight but he still prevailed by seven lengths.

"He was very very keen and is going to have to learn to settle. He got away with it today but when the races get better he'll probably be found out so he's going to have to settle," said Kennedy.

"He actually does jump well but the last three he was coming back underneath me and I had to keep the revs up on him and he was just getting tired. But he can't be that keen in better races."

The Stewards fined Gavin Cromwell, trainer, €65 for failing to fit a tongue tie to Mom Said prior to entering the parade ring.

A.E. Lynch, rider of Mom Said trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the second last and emptied thereafter.
