A festive Hidden Present

The extended Dunlop family were in attendance to cheer on Hidden Present in Down Royal’s two-and-a-half mile chase.

The nine-year-old son of Presenting was guided home by jockey Mark O’Hare for Darragh Cross trainer Bernard Jones at odds of 6/1 (backed in from 8s at the track).

The duo fended off The Corby Glenn (9/2). Yeoman was six lengths back in third at 8/1.

Owner Terry Dunlop from Hillsborough, Co Down, said: “I bought him as a foal. I have two horses with Bernard. The other one is an unraced Presenting. This horse hasn’t been over exposed. Bernard has brought him along.”

Bernard Jones added: “I was worried about the sticky ground today but he did it well.”

Mark O'Hare received a three-day suspension as the stewards deemed that he had used his whip with excessive frequency on the winner.
