Another for O'Brien & Coleman

Terence O'Brien completed an excellent eight day spell when East Beach added to the gains from Ballysassian's success at Thurles yesterday week, when again with Kevin Coleman in the plate, they captured the Fairyhouseracecourse.ie Handicap Hurdle.

The dual point-to-point winner travelled well to the front early in the straight and kept on best in the stamina sapping conditions to prevail by two and a half lengths over favourite, Selection Box Trained in Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork, East Beach was scoring at the eighth time of asking under Rules.

O'Brien said: "This horse is good enough to win again. His grand-dam, Seskin Bridge, who was owned by the President, won the Thyestes many years ago (1985) and hopefully in two years time our lad might do the same." (EM)
