The John Joe Walsh trained Apache Gold gained his third career win at Cork today and his first of 2014 when landing the Follow Cork on Facebook Handicap
Ridden by Niall McCullagh, the son of Golden Snake made all but was all out in the closing stages for a half length win over Copper Dock
Apache Gold's previous two wins were each gained in 2012 and 2013 and afterwards locally based Walsh stated “he's very consistent but it's about time he won!
“Niall (McCullagh) said he is only now getting to know him but gave him a good ride and got a few lengths and then sat there. Seven is his trip but if it was softer, he could go back to six.”
