Liam Cusack's Arrycan built upon a 150/1 third at Limerick to take the opportunity beginners' chase in Downpatrick.

Eoin Walsh got him on terms at the third last and the pair soon moved on from Hell On Earth

The seven-year-old gelding went clear on the run-in and powered home by 12 lengths at 22/1. Hell On Earth (13/2) could make no impression in second but came in four and a half lengths ahead of 7/2 joint favourite Oryx Hustler

Walsh said: "He had a promising debut (over fences) in Limerick (when third) and he has improved a lot from that run.

"Hopefully he will keep racing.

"He had a little look around after the back of the last but he rattled away up the hill then."
