The West's Awake completed quick back to back successes over fences with the minimum of fuss at Limerick.

Edward O'Grady 's charge made an impressive chase debut at the track last Saturday and was sent off a 2/5 shot for the quick follow up.

Paul Townend sat in behind the leaders in the rated novice chase and produced him to lead two from home.

He asserted before the final fence and went on to record a cosy nine-length success over long-time leader Fire In Soul

"Paul said coming down the hill he thought he was beaten and he thinks the horse in front (Fire In Soul) stopped, which made life easier for us; had a very good jump at the second last and won quite well,” said O'Grady.

"He did think he was in trouble but it was nice and when he does it, he is impressive and he learned much more today than the last day.

"I'll discuss it with the owner and decide where we go next but he has done very well to win twice in five days."
