David Barron is planning a raid on the Curragh with Gunmetal in the Tote Scurry Handicap on Saturday week.

Since leaving Charlie Hills, the five-year-old has won both his starts for North Yorkshire-based Barron.

He is now 10lb higher than at the start of the season, but Barron may change his plan if there is any rain.

"I think he'll go over to Ireland for a big handicap, there's quite a lot of money attached to it," Barron told Racing UK.

"That’s the plan, the only thing that would scupper us if they get a lot of rain. It’s been ideal for us up to now, as he likes fast ground.

"So that’s the plan, if it changed he’s in the Stewards’ Cup (at Goodwood) and that would be the alternative."
