Benbecula gained compensation in the ten furlong maiden at Dundalk tonight after an unfortunate incident on his last visit to the course.

Tommy Carmody 's charge had been a short price here last month only for his saddle to slip before halfway. He did well in the circumstances to finish second.

There was no drama tonight as Niall McCullagh tracked leader Tortueuse before taking over with two furlongs to run.

The 5/2 shot (from 2/1) kept on well for pressure inside the final furlong to post a three-parts-of-a-length success.

33/1 shot Lions Charge finished best of all to grab the runner-up spot from 2/1 favourite Kharezi

The winning trainer made a hasty exit from the winners' enclosure after greeting the Motivator gelding.
