Bittersweet cause a bit of a shock when winning on her first outing for Ado McGuinness in the mile claimer at Dundalk, beating better fancied stable-mate Royal Admiral

The Power filly was a recent acquisition by the yard and had been placed once from six starts for Jason Ward in England.

Shane Foley produced the 14/1 shot to challenge two furlongs out and she stayed on best in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-quarter win over 2/1 second favourite Royal Admiral.

“We only got her ten days ago. My wife's on a roll this week as that's her second winner of the week,” said McGuinness.

“She's there to be claimed. She has a good pedigree and that's why she was bought, to put her in foal so we'll see what happens.

“She's surprised me there on the all-weather as she wasn't liking my heavy sand at home. She was fit and stayed at it.

“She was green as she hasn't had that many runs. She'll here for the winter if she's not claimed.”
